MMO just posted a large news story about all that is scrapped for Cataclysm: Path of the Titans, Guild Currency, Guild Talents (/sigh), major shift in the glyph system...

Looks to me like Blizz is scrapping stuff to get this out sooner. I hope so!

I think they provided credible reasons why those cuts were made. None of them felt like "it would have been good if we could spend more time on it."

That said, hopefully Cata will be out sooner. Ruby Sanctum isn't enough content to keep people occupied for months.

You're right, Corca. And, with the new blue responses, I think they make good points. Both the guild talents and the Path of the Titans were two features I was really looking forward to, but the responses look legit.

Here's hoping we get a Beta by the end of the month!

I agree with the scrapping of guild talents and their reasons. But what was guild currency exactly? I'm also still disappointed about path of the titans and archaeology though :(

Guild currency was another token system where the guild could buy patterns, vendors, etc. Now, they're just unlocking the content when you reach a certain level. They're trying to take away the arguments that would ensue over 'We should get this for our guild instead of that', which I think is wise.

But, Path of the Titans sounded interesting. I'm with you Reaper in lamenting the loss of that and, subsequently, downgrading Archeology's influence to something similar to fishing or first aid. I'm guessing the problem with Path was that it would be more of a cookie-cutter feel than anything else... there'd be few paths that would be viable for a certain role/spec, and the choices within would probably be few.
